OPPORTUNITY: NEW SCHOOL CAMPUS

We have initiated a $10 million capital campaign to purchase a new school campus. It will provide a safe haven for 880 children at risk of school failure. There they will thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.

The 62-acre school campus has a Lower School and Upper School in excellent condition and is move-in ready. Caring staff persons specially trained to work with at-risk children will help each child transform from a culture of poverty to a culture of learning.

GOALS TO BE IMPLEMENTED

The new campus will quadruple our ministry outreach:

  1. Expanding to educate annually 880 at-risk children in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 with methods that work effectively with at-risk students. Children with unstable homes and frequent in-city moves will have a stable school experience through the years. Busses will transport all the children in the family to the same school, allowing older children to monitor younger ones.
  2. Expanding our teacher training program for university education majors. At the new campus, we will offer hands-on training experiences to over 30 student teachers per year. Their training in effective methods of teaching at-risk students will prepare them for traditional public school classrooms with the skills to succeed in teaching at-risk children. This will result in higher teacher satisfaction, greater retention of teachers, fewer school dropouts, and better quality of living for communities.
  3. Promoting education reform to maximize opportunities for all children beginning with the State of Tennessee and collaborating with partners like the Center for Education Reform in Washington to improve education nationwide.
  4. An on-campus residence for children attending our programs whose families are in crisis, a safe and stable home available until the families reorganize and the children can return to them.
